Cocktail bars often feature cosy, intimate spaces perfect for a quiet drink, as well as lively spots with DJ sets and dancing. Whether you're exploring an intimate basement bar with a vintage feel or a chic, contemporary lounge with sleek décor, London's cocktail bars promise an unforgettable night out, reflecting the city's rich cultural diversity and social hotspots. In areas such as Notting Hill, Kensington and Central London, you'll discover an array of unique venues, each with its own character and charm. We have accumulated a list of different cocktails bars depending on what you are after.

Amaro, Kensington High Street W8

Amaro on Kensington High Street opened in 2021 by the former head mixologist at The Savoy. With a 4.9 star rating, Amaro offers a contemporary vibe with dim moody lighting, dark wood and brushed brass furniture throughout. This friendly neighbourhood bar was voted one of the World’s 50 Best Discoveries, 50 Best Cocktail Bars and 2nd best by the Bartenders Edit. Whether you’re local to the area or visiting the city for a few days, this is an unmissable cocktail bar to visit.

Twice Shy, Earls Court SW5

Twice Shy is a fairly new addition to the neighbourhood, opened only at the end of 2023 by the founder of our beloved Amaro’s. Twice Shy offers a very similar atmosphere to Amaro’s and delicious cocktails curated by the owners and mixologists; Elon Soddu & Victor Maggiolo. This is the perfect hotspot for an intimate date, a cocktail night with your friends, or a place to celebrate. This contemporary bar has a thirty guest capacity and an even more intimate space in the basement available for private hire.

Aqua Kyoto/Nueva, Soho W1B

Immerse yourself in a Spanish Tapas night at Aqua Nueva or transport your taste buds to the Heart of Japan at Aqua Kyoto. Not only does Aqua give you the option of 2 spectacular restaurants for you to choose from right next to each other but they also have rooftop bars with breath-taking views of the city. Feet are made for dancing! Let loose and enjoy a night of live DJ’s and appealing cocktails with your closest friends. This was definitely the social hub of the summer with a mixture of DJ’s playing house music, afrobeats, and Brazilian funk. Stay on top of their events on their social media accounts if this is something you enjoy.

K Bar, South Kensington SW7

K Bar is located discreetly in The Kensington Hotel on Queen’s Gate with elegant décor throughout the hotel and straight into the bar. This sophisticated cocktail bar gives a sense of a modern gentlemen’s club with its green marble, leather panels, burgundy sofas and under-lit lamps. If you are looking for classic cocktails and a bar that’s for either business or pleasure to sit and relax then this is the place for you.
